Hi digital.ai,

We would like to monitor the current digitail.ai release load task load measured by the tasks listed in the task manager view. digital.ai Release Task run durations rely on the total load impact of the server. Therefore, we would like to either be able to log this information to the log so we can ingest this data in e.g. Splunk or an API of digital.ai release by which this information can be obtained in various granularity periodically (5s - 30s).

Currently, viewing this information is only available with elevated privileges and manual refresh clicks on the task manager view inside digital.ai release.

Monitoring those metrics could provide our customers more visibility of the actual and estimated times of process and deliveries on heavy-duty days.

br,
Daniel

  • We are cautious about providing details on Task job execution in logs or via API, as this could significantly impact system load and server performance.

One potential solution is to permit access to the Task Manager page for all users but restrict access to the "Abort" action on that page.
The "Refresh" action is intentionally manual for a reason. If content were to update automatically, Task jobs might disappear while being observed.

We are interested if broader customer base has similar demand.

  • It is possible to permit only specific users to access the task manager. If polling is impacting system load and server performance significantly, there can be several ways to solve this. Reduced information or timeouts to limit the requests. (30s-1min?)
We have never experienced any impacts even if the system had been under stress by load tests.

I am not able to comprehend why this is rejected by you as DevOps Product team instantly.
What solution would you offer to solve this problem of monitoring queued and reserved tasks?

  • This idea remains open for other customers to upvote; it has not been rejected. We seek to determine if other customers share similar needs.
