It would be great to have the possibilite to extand Items through multiple columns in Roadmap, this for major change release and if you have to or three releases Running in parallel and ending in diferents quarters, years or months.

Agree. Currently I have to manually create a duplicate entry for each project that is greater than 1-month. See also Idea to customize the Idea header.
We just started using the Roadmap functionality and this was one of the top issues the our Product organization raised. Having to duplicate entries that span multiple time "buckets" does not make sense
As of the Summer 2016 release, the new Roadmaps feature allows you to toggle between a board view that shows completion or a timeline view that shows duration.
