We need to be able to use the same custom field in all backlog items: Requests, Defects, and Stories. In our company, our customer service department opens requests. These requests are then 'triaged' by a member of the Engineering Department, who decides whether the request is a defect or a story. One of the items that needs to be filled in by Customer Service is a custom field containing pertinent customer information. We need to be able to see this information on the defect or general backlog item when created from the request. Currently, we have to keep retyping the information in.

  • This information is needed and is a great waste of time to enter it all a second time.

  • We have this need as well and a similar process. We're trying to use the Requested By and Reference fields as part of this process, but the Requested By field does not carry over to Defects.
