We are hoping to switch from using our PPM tool (daptiv) for time tracking to Version One. To do that we need the ability to have an admin user update other people's timesheets. Also, we need the ability to lock down timesheets after a time period has passed.

Comments

  • From an admin perspective, you can already 'correct' other people's actuals (which is what makes up their timesheets).

I recently did this for a whole bunch of time we had recorded during training in our sandbox project branch, but forgot to get participants to zero their actuals in that week.

    1) Customize the list to include "Actual Effort Hours (w/ Date and Member)".
    2) Actuate a line with a story or defect on it.
    3) Enter the member name, date, and hours (positive or negative).

  • +1 for locking down the timesheets though.

  • Thank you all for your valuable input. I am happy to announce that the Timesheets can now be locked for further input through the Review and Approval process. As part of this enhancement, the manager/admin has been given the ability to directly edit a team member's Timesheet.

Team members can now submit Timesheets in LifeCycle for their managers to review and approve. Approved timesheets are no longer editable by the team member. The managers can easily find submitted Timesheets, which need to be approved or see the last submitted timesheets for their teams. If the Timesheet needs to be amended or corrected, the manager can unlock it.

We also added the Timesheet Audit Report, in order the view timesheet audit trail. You can see all of the Timesheet functionality in this short product video: https://community.versionone.com/VersionOne-Lifecycle/Tracking_Your_Work_in_the_My_Home_Menu/Tracking_Hours_with_Timesheets

Please check it out and keep the good ideas coming.
