i know we had submitted a request for this years ago, and because of the inability to do so we now use a different system to track time entry. We would like to be able use timesheet functionality in this manner in V1 because need to be able to lock down timesheets at monthend so that we can keep the integrity of the data for reporting. Allowing users to update any timesheet in an open period but once those time periods are locked down they cannot. It would be an admin function to lock down time periods manually.

  • We have this same requirement at Univar. Need the ability to lock down timesheets after month end. Would want the ability to have an admin change the time but not other users.

  • Agreed. Although I can see this is already planned) , I would like to add the request that it should be possible to re-enable for an individual user for an individual time period.

We want past time records to be locked down for data integrity, but protecting invalid data is not great either.

When someone has booked time to the wrong thing, for example, they should be able to request access to a past time period by exception, be able to go in and fix, then have it locked down again. An overhead for admin, for sure, but definitely assures better data integrity.

  • Thank you all for your valuable input. I am happy to announce that the Timesheets can now be locked for further input through the Review and Approval process.

Team members can now submit Timesheets in LifeCycle for their managers to review and approve. Approved timesheets are no longer editable by the team member. The managers can easily find submitted Timesheets, which need to be approved or see the last submitted timesheets for their teams. If the Timesheet needs to be amended or corrected, the manager can unlock it.

We also added the Timesheet Audit Report, in order the view timesheet audit trail.

Please check it out and keep the good ideas coming.
