Our team would really benefit from an out-of-the-box Slack integration that allows conversations and backlog items to be shared between the two platforms.

Comments

  • I second this.

  • I've been using the RSS import capability of Slack to bring my notifications into Slack. But the result is pretty ugly, since the title and CDATA content of each item is displayed in Slack. I'd prefer a slicker implementation that is easier to read.

  • Would nice to have Slack be able to user V1 search to reference stories in chat.

  • Our product selection review slanted heavily towards requring Slack integration and therefore VersionOne was out of the running. V1, YOU need to have more agility to your customer demands!

  • Please prioritize this

  • we could really use this, V1 is so behind the competition in integration department, it's not even funny.

  • I strongly support this request. Time have changed and Email notifications is outdated in modern team communication. We have introduced slack recently and started to use it extensively since.
An urgent request to extend the notification capabilities and support Slack integration.

  • Other agile tools have had Slack for some time now. Please add.

  • It is redonculous that there is no Slack integration for V1!

  • We are currently in discovery for this integration, what problems are you looking to solve with an integration with Slack? Searching, updating, notifications, etc. Also we have a survey currently in use, if you have a free minute please take the time to provide feedback.

Thanks! We are listening and can't wait to deliver this integration!

  • oh I missed my chance at commenting?
Primarily I'd like to see a lot of outbound notifications from VersionOne into Slack. E.g. "New Request", "New Defect", even "New Story" with settings even at the Project level as to which Slack channel to post a summary with the share link.

More advanced would also be to allow Story status changes and Sprint assignments to be published to a slack channel.

On the inbound side, with new slack integration styles it would be good to be able to use some search commands and maybe some buttons on the responses for "Assign" or "Move to Done" or something else?

But yeah anythign you are using for email notification now - point it to Slack instead

  • We had to implement a workaround:

    # Find or create a V1 user who is not actively doing anything in V1.
#* It has to be an inactive user rather than e.g. myself, because otherwise my own item updates would not show up
    # Join him to a desired project
    # Create an email integration in Slack for this project's channel.
    # Edit V1 user's profile and change their email to Slack integration email
    # Turn on Notifications by email option
    # Subscribe to all desired notifications for this project

  • Notifications will be the first Slack supported feature. Look for this in the upcoming point release. Your existing subscription notifications will be sent to Slack if configured.

  • Thanks for the initial implementation of notifications.

We would love to see the capability of an @ mention or / command to send a comment or update to a work item. Most of our discussions on a day-to-day basis happen in Slack. It's always a very fluid conversation and so finding something that was mentioned about a story can be hard to locate later. Remembering to open up VersonOne to add a comment or an update breaks the flow of the conversation.

It would be cool to be able to update work items right inside of a chanel

  • We see that Push Notifications of events happening to user stories (on create etc.) Thank you!

We'd also like the option to create a Push Notification of 'comments' that are made as a Conversation for a given story.

  • I would also like to be able to differentiate between when:
    - someone adds me as a mention (i.e. like a "c.c.") OR
    - when someone actually types my first name in the comment itself - e.g. to ask me a question

sometimes people add me unnecessarily, and I'd like to filter out the conversations where I'm essentially "c.c."

  • +1 on adding support for conversations and mentions this feature. Other than this it is looking really good for us.

  • Thanks for the feedback, I'm going to close this idea so we can spin off more specific ideas around what else we can do with Slack. See you all on the new idea! Thanks, Terry
