Sprint Planning/Sprint Scheduling page should allow filter out closed sprints

Comments

  • That would help me quite a bit. Currently whenever I open the Sprint Scheduling page I have to navigate several pages before I see the current sprint. It starts out displaying past, closed sprints.

  • Unless addressed, this problem will only get worse as you add sprints.

  • We often get a sprint "split" across the scrolling screen due to the sprints to the "left" being closed. Not having the ability to hide closed sprints is inconsistent with the rest of the product. This would help us a TON

  • We run sprints every week. Not being able to do this makes the tool unusable for us

  • We can definitely benefit from the ability to filter out closed sprints. If this can't be done in the nearterm, please consider scrolling to the newest sprints (all the way to the right) when first loading this page. People will typically want to see the most recent sprints, not the older, closed sprints.

  • I agree with the comment from Doug F. I want to see open sprints when I open this page.

  • I would like this feature to be implemented in future versions. This is getting worse as the sprints are getting piled up as time goes by. This makes the tool unusable.

  • This is essential! We can't possibly dig through dozens of sprints - ugh.

  • This is critical. We cannot have like 25 sprints showing up on the screen. It will make the page and the functionality almost un-usable.

  • Yep - same. It's really annoying to have to go through multiple pages to get to the current sprint.

  • I agree as well

  • Any chance of this making it into a release? It makes no sense to have the legacy, closed sprints show up by default on the planning page.

  • I agree. We would really like to see this as an enhancement.

  • This should be an easy fix -- not sure why it has taken V1 so long to address. I've been waiting a LONG time for this. Drives me crazy to deal with all of the old sprints. The only concern is that a means of opening up or reviewing past closed sprints would still be needed. However I should not have to see these every time I go to sprint planning.

  • In our Sprint Scheduling (going back into 2012), we are showing "81-84 of 116" We rarely need to go back in time. Filtering out the closed sprints would be highly beneficial.

  • The view picks up wherever you last left off so should stay up to date naturally with the latest open sprint in most cases. We will be looking at updating the overall page layout more along the lines of the Release Scheduling page layout and will consider an option for focusing just on open sprints first at that point.

  • I just tried and it does not remember where I last left off. I'm using FF 40.0.3 on a Macbook Pro. http://screencast.com/t/vUHzAB1S

  • Melaina:

Unfortunately your screencast shows a black screen and tons of mouse cursors, so I could not see what you are seeing.

Is it possible the past sprints have not yet been closed? This would definitely lead to the behavior you are seeing.

  • Thanks for the hint. My team has never had the practice of activating sprints as we go. (I asked about it when I joined the team and no one could say what it would do and we didn't see any value to it.) Although all of the older sprints are closed, V1 wasn't sticking to the last closed sprint, so my results where that when I switched away from the scheduling view, say to a backlog view, and then back, I was always on a really old page of sprints.

  • Totally agree- just like with the team room pages and other views...I'd like the ability to filter to see closed sprint, but the default should be seeing the open ones

  • Several of our teams would like to have a filter on this area so they can just see activate sprints.

  • Why is it that such a simple request -- with a lot of support, obviously -- take so long to be incorporated into the product?

  • Thanks all for your feedback. As always, we keep a close eye on all of your suggestions and work them into our product as appropriate. We have now completely redesigned the Sprint Scheduling page and there is now the ability to hide closed sprints.
